EMDR Therapy Training (in-person) and Virtual Training

This is the complete EMDR Therapy Training approved by EMDRIA, formerly known as Level I and Level II. Participants will learn the EMDR psychotherapy approach, the basic eight-phase EMDR protocol, the Adaptive Information Processing Model, and how to incorporate EMDR into your practice. This course will consist of didactic presentations, demonstrations, supervised practicum, and case consultations. Participants must attend the full training that consists of two-parts, Part 1 and Part 2 (6 days total), and five 2-hour consultation groups to receive a certificate of completion in EMDR Therapy. Approval of partial programs will not be granted. Required reading: Eye Movement. Desensitization and Reprocessing: 

Basic principles, protocols, and procedures, third edition, by Francine Shapiro, PhD.

Qualifications for Attendance

A clinical background is essential for the effective application of EMDR. Attendance at the workshop is limited to mental health professionals who, at a minimum, are enrolled in the 2nd year, 1st semester practicum 

phase of a Master’s Degree or 1st year Doctoral degree. 

This course is appropriate for licensed and pre-licensed mental health professionals including Psychologists, Marriage and Family Therapists, Clinical Social Workers and Professional Clinical Counselors.

This is a two-part comprehensive EMDR Therapy training that includes training, training manual, 10 hours of consultation and 50 CE's upon completion.

     COVID- 19

You will be provided a mask the 1st day of training.  

Hand sanitizer and disinfectant wipes will be available throughout training. 

If you are sick , or have been in direct contact with someone 2-weeks prior to training, please reschedule for another training date.  


Each trainee must attend five 2-hour group consultations, in addition to the training sessions. Teleconference arrangements for consultations can be made for individuals attending from out-of-th​e area.  Consultation schedule will be announced at training and is included in training cost.

About the Instructor

Rhonda Kamai-Kekela, LCSW is an EMDR International Association Approved Trainer and Consultant. She has a private practice in Vernal, Utah, consults EMDR therapist's, and specializes in the treatment of dissociative disorders, substance abuse, addictions and PTSD. In addition to her psychotherapy practice, Rhonda Kamai-Kekela is a Dept. of Transportation SAP.

 Continuing education credits is provided with this training from an approved CE provider with EMDRIA, NBCC, CPA and NASW. 

NBCC: AEI (Advanced Education Institute) has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. 6657. Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified. AEI is solely responsible for all aspects of the program(s). NBCC credits are accepted by the California BBS.

Psychologists: Advanced Education Institute (AEI) is approved by the California Psychological Association to provide continuing professional education for psychologists. AEI maintains responsibility for this program and its content.

NASW: "This program is Approved by the National Association of Social Workers (Approval # 886813866-1119) for 50 continuing education contact hours."

Attendance at the entire program is required for CE Credit. No partial Credit will be awarded.
